Route Operations Manager

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to ensuring seamless delivery operations.
Responsibilities:- Scheduling Route Dispatch: Manage route dispatch in a timely manner to ensure successful deliveries, taking into account the needs of drivers, customers, and the company.
- Delivery Time Information: Gather and record delivery time information from route drivers, maintaining accurate records and communicating any discrepancies to relevant parties.
- Training and Development: Participate in the selection and training of new hires, providing guidance and support to help them develop the necessary skills for their roles.
- Customer Service: Collaborate with customer service teams to provide real-time updates on driver locations, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and building trust with key stakeholders.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Effectively communicate with management and other departments to address issues related to delivery windows, truck breakdowns, and other logistical challenges. Utilize problem-solving skills to find solutions and minimize downtime.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete daily delivery logs, disbursement reports, and other administrative tasks as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Bilingual Requirements: Fluency in Spanish is essential for this role, enabling effective communication with drivers and customers who may not speak English.
- Experience and Education: A high school diploma and previous experience in dispatching or a related field are mandatory. Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, data entry systems, and route management software is also required.
- Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Geographical Knowledge: Familiarity with NY, NJ, and CT geography is beneficial, allowing for more efficient routing and logistics planning.
- DOT Compliance: Understand and comply with DOT regulations regarding driver hours of service, vehicle inspections, and drug/alcohol testing procedures.
- The estimated salary range for this position is $25-$30 per hour, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive compensation, the successful candidate can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and paid time off.
