Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Guest Services Assistant to join our team at St. Anthony Foundation. As a key member of our Dining Room team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring their needs are met, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Engagement
    • Ensure guests are greeted and welcomed upon arrival, treating them with dignity and respect.
    • Maintain accurate information and referral services for guests, including producing updated service handouts and maintaining a guest bulletin board.
    • Provide consistent and positive customer service, addressing guest questions, needs, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    • Connect guests with other St. Anthony Foundation services, including the Clinic, Free Clothing Program, Social Work Center, and Chaplain services.
    • Assist guests with special needs and provide empathy, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
  • Program Administration and Operations
    • Complete reports and paperwork neatly, legibly, and thoroughly.
    • Enter data and information electronically as required, utilizing our database to look up data and reports.
    • Understand and follow St. Anthony Foundation's programs, policies, and procedures.
    • Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance personal capacity and apply innovative approaches to daily workflows, service delivery, and guest care and engagement.
    • Complete incident reports, daily logs, forms, and other paperwork neatly, legibly, and completely.
    • Assist with administrative duties as needed.
  • Teamwork
    • Participate in relevant meetings to support team communication and program goals.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team success.
    • Manage stress and pressure situations calmly and responsively, maintaining awareness of how behavior or response can impact others.
    • Demonstrate integrity while working and representing St. Anthony Foundation.
    • Practice direct, respectful, open, and honest communication with colleagues.

Requirements

  • Two years' experience in client services, social work, or customer service.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to be polite, diplomatic, and firm.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and high-pressure situations in a self-composed and self-assured manner.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to complete paperwork neatly and legibly.
  • Ability or willingness to learn to use information and communication technologies (computers, smartphones, and iPads) to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information.
  • Ability to remain awake and aware during all scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to be punctual, reliable, cooperative, and team-oriented.
  • Experience with conflict de-escalation skills is preferred.
  • C.P.R./First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or community-based social service agency with people experiencing homelessness or poverty is desired.
  • Proficiency in a second language is strongly desired.
  • Commitment to St. Anthony Foundation's Statement of Values and a desire to work for a social services agency serving the poor.
