Job Summary

The Lodge at Schroon Lake is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Culinary Operations to lead our food and beverage team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing culinary strategies that drive guest satisfaction and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the evolving tastes and preferences of our guests
    • Work closely with our culinary team to ensure seamless execution of menu items and exceptional guest service
  • Team Management and Development
    • Lead and motivate a high-performing culinary team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and drive revenue growth
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage budgets to ensure profitability and efficiency in food and beverage operations
    • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to optimize profitability
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that all food and beverage operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sanitation
    • Develop and implement quality control programs to prevent foodborne illness and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Marketing and Promotion
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our culinary offerings and drive revenue growth
    • Collaborate with our sales and events team to develop and execute customized menus and events

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in culinary management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in culinary management, with a focus on menu development, team leadership, and financial management
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive business results and improve operational efficiency
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
