Radiation Therapy Professional

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Operations Director, this Radiation Therapist will be responsible for radiation therapy procedures, dose calculations, and chart consistency checks on the treatment machine and simulator during a treatment day. This role requires accurate positioning of patients for treatment and administering doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment according to physician's prescription and established practices and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification
- Monitors radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation and follows principles of radiation protection to ensure safety for patient, self, and others
- Maintains required records, reports, and files, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient's reaction
Requirements
- Associate's degree in radiation therapy plus 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment OR Bachelor's degree
- Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a radiation therapist with an accredited program of radiation therapy technology
- Current Licensure as a Radiation Therapist with the Arkansas Department of Health
