Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at CARTI. This role is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and education in the field of radiation oncology.

About the Role

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients receiving radiation therapy, including assessing patient problems, recommending interventions, and evaluating treatment outcomes.
  • Assess educational needs and provide patient education on nursing care during radiation therapy, as well as instruct patients and families on proper care techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, including charts and documents, while maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other departmental personnel to ensure smooth patient flow through the department.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as scheduling lab work, x-rays, or other diagnostic procedures, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other areas or staff as needed to support the overall functioning of the department.

Requirements

  • ADN or BSN from an accredited College of Nursing
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Arkansas
  • Valid Arkansas Driver's License (if travel is required)
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skill and proficiency in the field of oncology nursing, acquired through completion of a registered nursing program
  • Proficiency in nursing practice and clinical skills, typically acquired through two years of nursing experience
  • Knowledge of CARTI and department policies and procedures, preparation of patients for examination, patient flow through the department, physician preferences and protocols, medication administration, venipuncture skills, knowledge of oncology nursing, and more.

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
