Radiation Therapy Team Member

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at CARTI. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy services to patients. Your primary responsibilities will include administering, simulating and recording radiation treatments, as well as preparing set-ups and calculating monitor units. You will also be responsible for communicating with patients and families, assessing and evaluating patient needs and treatment problems, and implementing new processes regarding EMR updates and equipment updates. As a member of our team, you will be expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to departmental policies and physician practices. You will also be required to perform daily warm-up and start-up procedures of equipment, quality control checks and notify proper personnel of equipment malfunction and/or adverse conditions. Additionally, you will be responsible for scheduling patients for daily treatments and maintaining room cleanliness, linens and needed supplies in treatment room.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, simulate and record radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist
- Prepare set-ups within established parameters and calculate monitor units
- Record patient treatment information in chart while maintaining confidentiality
- Communicate with patients and families regarding routine during radiation therapy
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and treatment problems, recommend intervention and act in accordance with physician practices and departmental policies while maintaining confidentiality
- Investigate problems or unsatisfactory procedures and recommend possible solutions
- Construct patient treatment aids, bolus material, positioning and immobilization devices and check for suitability and accuracy
- Perform checks on patient's charts for accuracy and proper documentation according to established procedures
- Schedule patients for daily treatments and maintain quality control of patient charts and treatment parameters by implementing guidelines on a regular basis
- Maintain room cleanliness, linens and needed supplies in treatment room and notify proper personnel of areas needing attention
- Evaluate accessories for damage and coordinate repair
- Evaluate, teach and monitor the clinical and didactic education of radiation therapy and diagnostic students
- Monitor and adhere to general radiation safety guidelines
- Implement new processes regarding EMR updates and equipment updates
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited program of radiation therapy technology
- Current registration as a radiation therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible with a passing score within 360-days from date of employment
- Current Licensure as a Radiation Therapist with the Arkansas Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
