Job Title: General Foreman

Location: Deer Valley

Job Overview:

The General Foreman plays a pivotal role in directing and overseeing various teams of foremen and laborers on extensive projects or multiple assignments within the organization. This position guarantees that all projects are carried out effectively, safely, and in alignment with established specifications, while also managing resources, schedules, and adhering to company policies and standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight:
  • Oversee and manage the implementation of construction or production tasks across diverse sites or projects.
  • Ensure timely project completion within budget constraints while meeting quality and safety benchmarks.
  • Evaluate project plans, timelines, and progress, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Leadership:
  • Guide and mentor a team of foremen and supervisors, offering support and direction to enhance team performance.
  • Distribute tasks and responsibilities among foremen to ensure optimal workforce utilization.
  • Encourage a collaborative work atmosphere and promote teamwork.
  • Resource Coordination:
  • Manage the distribution and use of materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Keep track of inventory levels and liaise with procurement for timely material delivery.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of equipment.
  • Safety Management:
  • Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards or compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Conflict Resolution:
  • Identify and resolve any issues or disputes that arise on-site or within the team.
  • Provide solutions to operational or logistical challenges.
  • Communication:
  • Act as the main liaison between upper management and on-site teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication among various departments and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, updates, and recommendations to management.
Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Foreman or in a comparable supervisory position in construction or manufacturing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction or production methodologies, safety regulations, and project management principles.
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or other industry-specific credentials may be necessary.
Working Conditions:
  • May involve working in various settings, including outdoor job sites or manufacturing environments.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as required to meet project deadlines.
  • Physical endurance to manage the demands of the role, including lifting and transporting materials.
