Key Responsibilities

The Healthcare Construction Supervisor will:

  • Oversee the construction process, ensuring compliance with project protocols, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and quality while optimizing the use of materials and equipment.
  • Develop and implement phasing and sequencing strategies to achieve project milestones.
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including owners and architects, to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Supervise craft personnel and on-site staff.
  • Provide mentorship and support for team development.
  • Uphold corporate values in hiring and termination processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to establish and maintain project schedules and logistics.
  • Ensure adherence to trade partner agreements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to guarantee that all work meets the highest quality standards.
  • Spend some time in the office, primarily before project initiation and after completion.

Healthcare-Specific Knowledge

- Clean Room Management: Knowledge of the stringent standards for clean rooms in healthcare settings, ensuring compliance with cleanliness, air quality, and contamination control.

- Infection Control Protocols: Implement measures to prevent infection spread during construction activities.

- Medical Equipment Coordination: Work with medical equipment suppliers and facility personnel to ensure smooth integration of specialized equipment.

- Life Safety Systems: Familiarity with healthcare-specific life safety systems, including fire suppression, emergency exits, and evacuation procedures.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in commercial construction.

- At least 5 years of experience in healthcare construction projects.

- Proven ability to manage projects with a total scope exceeding $40 million.

- Familiarity with healthcare construction regulations and requirements.

- Ability to meet government and hospital access requirements, which may include background checks and immunizations.

- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Procore or Bluebeam.

- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, owners, and colleagues.

- Ability to interpret complex instructions, correspondence, blueprints, and contract documents.
