Position Summary

The Principal Technical Manager for Upstream Oil and Gas will contribute expert technical guidance to Solomon's benchmarking and consulting initiatives. This role demands a deep understanding of upstream production operations and the ability to analyze operational data to derive actionable business insights. The ideal candidate will stay informed about industry trends and engage with clients at various organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Roadmap Management
    • Oversee the technical roadmap for Solomon's upstream production benchmarking studies, ensuring alignment with long-term growth objectives.
    • Lead enhancements in benchmarking analyses, including the technical scope and methodologies employed.
    • Execute benchmarking studies while collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver substantial business value.
    • Plan and manage consulting projects in the upstream oil and gas sector.
    • Guarantee the technical quality and client value of performance improvement offerings.
  • Market Intelligence & Industry Trends
    • Stay updated on industry developments and client initiatives, applying this knowledge to refine benchmarking and consulting services.
    • Define and implement modifications to study scopes and deliverables to address evolving industry challenges.
    • Enhance client value by broadening the insights provided through study participation.
  • Technological Application & Analytical Methods
    • Utilize new technologies and analytical approaches to extract innovative insights from Solomon's intellectual assets and databases, particularly regarding sustainability in the upstream oil and gas sector.
    • Identify infrastructure improvements to enhance the efficiency of client participation and Solomon's study execution.
  • Collaboration & Coordination
    • Work closely with Benchmarking Study Managers, Product Managers, and the Technology Team to synchronize technical study enhancements with company timelines and resource availability.
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering is required.
  • Master's degree or advanced professional qualifications (e.g., MBA, PhD) are preferred.
Experience
  • A minimum of 12 years in an oil and gas operating or energy consulting firm.
  • At least 8 years of upstream production operational experience in technical support or management roles.
  • Extensive experience with onshore and offshore production operations.
Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Additional Information
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • This position may be based in various global offices.
