Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is in search of a seasoned attorney to join the commercial and infrastructure division within the General Counsel Business Unit.

This role will deliver legal expertise concerning energy transactions, engineering, construction, procurement, operations, marketing, and general commercial and utility matters.

The successful candidate will take a pivotal role in structuring, negotiating, drafting, and providing comprehensive transactional support across various business units within the organization.


Ideal Candidates Will Have:

A robust academic foundation complemented by a minimum of 5 years of experience in a prestigious law firm, corporate legal department, or financial institution, particularly within the energy and utility sectors.

Proficiency in drafting and negotiating power transactions, EPC agreements, engineering and construction contracts, procurement activities, operations and maintenance agreements, as well as acquisitions and divestitures of energy infrastructure assets.

Experience representing electric utilities and independent power producers, along with a solid understanding of electric utility regulations.
