Job Overview

Ardon Health is seeking a highly skilled Referral Resource Specialist to join our award-winning specialty pharmacy team. As a Referral Resource Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting patients by managing all processes related to referral management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as liaison between company, patients, and physician's office.
  • Manage patient prescription outreach for new prescriptions, transfers, and refill requests.
  • Assist with prescription clarification outreach.
  • Manage data entry and prescription outreach for onboarding patient populations.
  • Provide inbound provider phone support.
  • Field email requests and address issues or facilitate routing to alternate department.
  • Assist pharmacist team in processing prescriptions and addressing patient needs.
  • Communicate with patients as needed regarding prescription refills and refer any medication or illness-related questions or concerns to a board-licensed healthcare professional.
  • Support insurance and pharmacy teams when business needs arise.
  • Maintain documentation of incoming and outgoing calls to and from patients.
  • Provide outbound communication to patients and providers for all delays, issues, or requests received while patient referrals are within the Referral Resource stages.
  • Assist pharmacist team with intervention reporting.
  • Manage Speed to Therapy reporting.
  • Assist pharmacists with managing discontinuation, lost to follow-up outcomes, and patient discharges.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for pharmacy practices and aid in workflow issue resolution.
  • Communicate patient status to physician offices and clinics.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize operating systems and tools to help manage patient therapy and refill compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in a pharmacy setting, including 1 year of experience working in specialty pharmacy.
  • Proven success with multi-tasking and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to prescription operations.
  • Ability to be innovative and solution-oriented and to strive for best practices.
  • Ability to shift direction based on business needs while successfully remaining focused.
  • Proven teamwork and a positive outlook are essential characteristics of this role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Typing a minimum of 35 words per minute is required. Must pass typing test.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to arrive at work on time on a daily basis.
  • Active Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license.
