Position Overview:

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Component Engineer to support our operations. In this role, you will engage in a variety of projects within both laboratory and advanced manufacturing settings, providing you with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in technical assignments related to hardware development, manufacturing, and testing of electronic components.
  • Assess Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts and materials, including integrated circuits, passive components, and other electronic packaging materials.
  • Collaborate with a team to enhance component designs for improved manufacturing and reliability.
  • Generate technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, develop specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test results.
  • Create processes for screening, qualification testing, and compliance with MIL-STD testing requirements.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
  • Innovate and evaluate new technology solutions suitable for challenging military environments.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in electrical component engineering within an aerospace context.
  • Familiarity with microelectronics packaging and materials for military applications.
  • Proven track record in establishing processes for high-reliability microelectronics handling and qualification.
  • Experience in hardware development, manufacturing, testing, and qualification of electronic components.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD 810 and 883 standards.
  • Ability to establish and implement technical requirements effectively.
  • Participation in major program milestone reviews.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing engineering specifications.
  • Experience in non-conformance and failure analysis.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET clearance or higher.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline.

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of EEEE component selection in systems design.
  • Knowledge of NASA & Military performance documents for component selection.
  • Experience with advanced microelectronics packaging technologies.
  • Familiarity with Destructive Physical Analysis and related processes.
  • Experience in reliability analysis and failure rate estimation.
  • Background in parts, materials, and process selection for aerospace hardware.
  • Preferred DOD Top Secret clearance or SCI access.
  • Experience with quality management systems and auditing processes.
  • Familiarity with supply chain risk management and inspection processes.
