Electronics Engineering Technician

Objective of the Position
The primary aim is to utilize established methodologies and techniques across electronic, mechanical, and various technical fields to deliver support for ongoing manufacturing, engineering, and associated technical initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties represent the core responsibilities expected of this role. Additional tasks may be assigned by the program manager in alignment with the responsibilities associated with this position.
- Conduct inspections, tests, adjustments, and certifications of moderately complex assemblies, subassemblies, components, and systems to ensure adherence to specifications and quality assurance standards, utilizing blueprints, schematics, and inspection manuals with hand tools and precision testing instruments.
- Diagnose malfunctions in moderately complex equipment by providing support through various communication methods. Execute repairs by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry and components using hand and power tools.
- Establish standard testing equipment and circuitry to perform functional, operational, environmental, and life testing. Implement field changes to equipment. Assemble and/or modify wiring, insulation, and components using hand and power tools. Install assemblies and hardware into enclosures.
- Review and revise technical documentation and manuals, and create charts, graphs, and schematics to depict and clarify system operating characteristics.
- Coordinate transportation for the shipment of components, equipment, and materials to various operational sites.
- Perform soldering tasks on components and sub-assemblies.
- Fulfill additional duties as necessary.
- Be prepared for shift work and potential overtime as required.
Position Requirements
- Strong communication skills, adept in systems troubleshooting, fault isolation/diagnosis, and the ability to interpret and follow technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic systems repair.
- An Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience totaling 3 years.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, and optical assemblies.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with tools and soldering techniques.
- Background in electro-optic avionics repair.
- Capability to manage and coordinate multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Work Environment
- Standard laboratory setting.
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials, high noise levels, and laser energy.
- Essential physical requirements include standing, sitting, stooping, and typing.
- Physical demands may involve lifting medium-weight items, up to 50 pounds.
