Job Overview

Rittal is a leading manufacturer of industrial and IT enclosures, racks, and accessories, specializing in high-efficiency climate control and power management systems tailored for various applications including industrial, data center, outdoor, and hybrid environments.

We are currently looking for a Logistics Engineer to join our team in Urbana, Ohio.

The primary objective of this role is to enhance operational efficiency and provide analytical evaluations of material flow, storage types, and logistics processes. This includes addressing customer packaging and shipping requirements while spearheading process improvements throughout the logistics and supply chain networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute logistics and warehousing strategies that yield competitive advantages for Rittal LLC, focusing on process and equipment optimization.
  • Lead projects and implement process enhancements using effective project management methodologies to meet strategic objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish and maintain processes and procedures for warehouse operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in material handling processes.
  • Design and optimize the finished goods warehouse storage layout for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Promote and support operational excellence through collaborative, cross-functional projects.
  • Identify and procure necessary capital equipment.
  • Assist in product development by defining robust packaging requirements for Rittal Corporation products.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management is required.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including Lean Six Sigma, is a plus.
  • Experience in procurement and materials management is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and the Microsoft Office suite is essential.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
