At Vancrest of Urbana, Inc., we recognize that dining plays a crucial role in the lives of our residents. Our commitment is to deliver exceptional dining experiences while ensuring optimal nutritional standards for each individual.

Key Responsibilities of the Cook:
  • Reviewing menus before food preparation
  • Inspecting specialized diet trays to ensure accuracy
  • Completing necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submitting them to the Food Services Director
  • Coordinating dietary services with other departments as needed
  • Collaborating with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and Supervisors to implement recommended dietary changes
  • Ensuring compliance with established dietary procedures and policies
  • Assisting in the setup of food service production lines to guarantee timely meal preparation
  • Processing dietary changes and new diets as communicated by Nursing Services and approved by the Food Service Director
  • Performing dishwashing and cleaning tasks, ensuring utensils are ready for the next meal
  • Assisting in the inventory and storage of incoming food and supplies, along with other assigned duties
  • Working under the supervision of the Dietary Manager
