EA Create Rigging, primarily located in Vancouver, Canada, and Orlando, Florida, is renowned for its outstanding contributions to titles such as Football Club, Madden, UFC, Plants Versus Zombies, Apex Legends, Dead Space, and Battlefield. We are seeking a Rigging Supervisor to provide guidance on future projects.

Role Overview:

The Lead Rigging Specialist will oversee the Rigging Department, serving as the primary liaison between the department and various Game Teams, partner teams, and external technical collaborators. You will report to the Production Technical Art Director and manage a team of skilled professionals.

Your responsibilities will encompass multiple projects, acting as a point of escalation while not being solely focused on daily production support.


Key Responsibilities:


• Provide technical and creative leadership for projects under your direction
• Manage a team of Senior Rigging Artists
• Maintain the Rigging department's strategic roadmap
• Conduct regular check-ins with Artists, Leads, and Supervisors to address their needs
• Collaborate with Production to ensure the overall scope of project deliveries
• Establish quality benchmarks for Game Teams
• Drive enhancements within the Rigging domain, both visually and technically
• Partner with external teams to ensure alignment in development
• Mentor a diverse group of artists and technicians
• Work with external vendors to uphold Rigging quality
• Conduct initial project scoping and investigations
• Oversee the documentation of workflows

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience with multiple shipped Game Titles or VFX/Feature Animation
• Proven experience collaborating with Technical, Creative, and Business Partners
• Strong background in rigging and skinning complex assets
• In-depth understanding of Simulation
• Expertise in Maya
• Proficient in scripting with Python, including tool building and PyQT/PySide
• Knowledge of animation principles and human anatomy
• Familiarity with 3D Math
Bonus:
• Experience with Game Engines (Commercial or Proprietary)
• Houdini experience
• Familiarity with Maya API
• Experience in Facial Rigging
• Motion Capture knowledge
• Understanding of C++.

Salary will be determined based on various relevant business and candidate factors, including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.


Base Salary Ranges:

  • British Columbia (depending on location): $133,400 - $193,200 CAN Annually
