Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiologic procedures with precision and accuracy, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, obtaining clinical history, and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process images, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Assist radiologists, work independently, and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain records, enter patient information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in radiology positioning and techniques, aseptic techniques, and C-arm.
  • Advanced knowledge of radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Knowledge of specialty physician protocols and ability to work effectively with diverse providers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day and perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling with moderate force.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
