Radiology Technologist Level II Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level II to join our team in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Radiology Technologist to perform a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proficiently perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including positioning patients and selecting exposure factors.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding.
  • Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with Radiologists, working independently outside the department with providers.
  • Prepare and maintain records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, acting as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system.
  • Facilitate clinical problem solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, and push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
