Key Responsibilities

Position Title: Material Analyst

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

Role Overview:
This position entails overseeing supply chain management tasks essential for maintaining precise part inventories at optimal stock levels, ensuring the organization can meet global demands effectively.

Core Duties:
  1. Facilitate the planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management of components across the business unit.
  2. Utilize sound judgment and specialized knowledge in supply chain management to achieve performance metrics.
  3. Exhibit the ability to foresee emerging trends and their potential implications for the business.
  4. Evaluate key performance indicators to guarantee that supply chain service level objectives are met.
  5. Understand the financial and logistical ramifications of inventory investment decisions.
  6. Conduct lifecycle planning for rotable and perishable inventory items as necessary.
  7. Propose modifications to supply chain tactical plans in response to evolving business needs.
  8. Assist in assessing whether surplus inventory should be redistributed, sold, or disposed of.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with other departments to address issues related to shortages, distribution, customer provisioning, service center demand, and over-the-counter sales, and recommend solutions.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Create replenishment strategies that highlight potential future inventory discrepancies and take appropriate actions to balance inventory levels while minimizing logistics costs.
  2. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on group/individual workload, inventory levels, logistics considerations, and overall customer fill rates.
  3. Review engineering specifications, vendor part catalogs, and purchased assembly items to determine initial spare parts requirements for new and existing product lines.
  4. Conduct audits as relevant to the area of expertise.
  5. Participate in training new team members, sharing business knowledge, skills, and experience.
  6. Occasional travel may be required, as relevant to the area of specialization.

Other Qualifications:
  1. Experience in demand planning and inventory management across distribution networks.
  2. Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is highly preferred.
  3. Familiarity with aircraft parts and regulations is advantageous.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
