Position Overview

The Legal department at The Pokémon Company International is seeking a qualified attorney with substantial experience in finance and commercial sales to support our expanding B2B operations. This role involves close collaboration with the North America and LATAM trading card sales, finance, tax, and procurement teams to facilitate commercial agreements and lead negotiations. Additionally, the attorney will provide legal guidance to the Procurement and Facilities teams on operational matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary legal advisor for the North American and Latin American trading card sales teams, managing negotiations with resellers, retailers, and promotional partners across the Americas.
  • Offer transactional support to the finance department, including areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement.
  • Draft, structure, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including service contracts and product sales agreements.
  • Advise on commercial issues affecting the B2B supply chain, including manufacturing, shipping, and trade compliance.
  • Provide legal support for matters related to facilities and operational infrastructure, including the sourcing of service providers.
  • Collaborate with legal team members to deliver comprehensive advice to client teams.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of contract templates and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Five to eight years of relevant legal experience.
  • J.D. or equivalent degree with an active bar license in good standing, eligible to practice in Washington State.
  • A minimum of five years of experience advising clients on commercial transactions, particularly in sales and operational matters.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. competition law, intellectual property, finance, tax, and trade regulations.
  • Experience in optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency and transparency.
  • Background in supporting the growth of a business in terms of geography and volume.
  • Experience with multinational corporations and a strong ability to navigate cross-cultural communications.
  • Preferred experience in an in-house legal team.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position typically starts between $125,000 and $148,200, with a total range of $125,000 to $187,000, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
