Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development will work closely with physicians, administrators, and researchers to further all aspects of the fundraising programs for areas to include the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the university's relationship with current donors and prospective donors who give or can give at the $100,000 level or above
  • Design and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward high capacity individuals
  • Develop gift proposals and marketing materials
  • Engage donors and prospective donors through personal meetings and events based on initiative/division priorities
  • Apply superb project management skills to advance strategic goals
What You'll Do in the First Three Months

You will begin establishing relationships with program leaders, clinical and lab-based faculty, and internal UDAR colleagues. You will learn about program priorities and development opportunities, familiarize yourself with the donor portfolio, meet key internal stakeholders and partners, and start contributing to the planning and execution of fundraising efforts.

What You'll Do After Three Months

You will be engaging with donors in your portfolio, guiding the direction and implementation of fundraising efforts to improve the major gifts pipeline, and stewarding existing donors.

What You'll Achieve by the End of the First Year

You will have identified and cultivated new donors, engaged mid-level and major gift donors, established a strong network of colleagues, and secured valuable support to advance UCSF's mission.
