Program Overview

The Child Care Providers United Training Fund is a collaborative initiative aimed at elevating the leadership of family child care providers in California, primarily women of color and immigrants. These providers play a crucial role in delivering subsidized care services to underserved families, ensuring equitable access to quality education and care for all children.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Tuition Assistance Coordinator for the CCPU California Training & Professional Development Program. This role is essential for managing scholarship distribution for our California Early Child Care training initiatives. The coordinator will provide daily support to members, guiding them through the application process and overseeing the review and approval of submissions. Collaboration with the Technical Supports Benefits Manager and reporting to the Tuition Assistance Manager will be key aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address inquiries from providers and assist with the admissions process.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through various communication channels.
  • Manage the provider application workflow, including submission, review, and approval.
  • Offer educational counseling to maximize grant opportunities.
  • Organize informational events to promote the benefit program.
  • Collect and maintain program evaluation data in accordance with guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Generate reports to assess program effectiveness and challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Willingness to travel within California as needed.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in coordinating complex programs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Adaptability to changing challenges in a startup-like environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency, particularly in English and Spanish, Somali, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, or Russian.
