Position Overview:

The Coordinator of Transfer Programs plays a pivotal role in enhancing the experience of new transfer students through the Transfer Learning Community (TLC) initiative. This position is responsible for the development and execution of programming within the TLC framework, while also broadening opportunities for all transfer students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of TLC Programs: Oversee and coordinate TLC events and activities to meet the program's objectives, collaborating closely with the Director of New Student Programs.
  • Community Engagement: Work in partnership with Residential Life and Community and Leadership Development teams to ensure a cohesive transfer student experience.
  • Event Facilitation: Lead the planning and execution of various TLC events, including Fall and Spring TLC Hours, Integration Showcases, and Torero Transfer Week.
  • Leadership Development: Provide guidance and support to transfer student leaders and Scholastic Assistants, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Budget Management: Assist in maintaining the Transfer Programming budget, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation of expenses.
  • Website Management: Regularly update and maintain the onboarding and TLC websites to ensure current information is available.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of two years of experience in large-scale program implementation, preferably within higher education settings. Experience working with transfer students or underserved populations is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and G-Suite, with the ability to learn additional software tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment.
