About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Quality Engineer to join our team in Hagerstown, MD. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our suppliers and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in bid and tender revisions as required.
  • Support the Procurement team in the Sourcing process, including initial risk assessments, supplier selection, and approval processes.
  • Prepare suppliers for Gate review processes, ensuring successful and timely FAI and tracking outstanding actions until completion.
  • Assist suppliers with inspection before ex-works, as required.
  • Develop and track product, process, and system audits from assigned categories.
  • Participate in supplier assessment and rating processes.
  • Initiate and manage Supplier Risk Management Process.
  • Assist and interact with suppliers on the Supplier APQP processes.
  • Track Supplier Corrective Action Reports and generate statistical situations based on them.
  • Report the status of quarantine and blocked stock to suppliers, if required.
  • Collaborate with client factories and Service Deliveries in QRQC/other investigation processes relating to ambiguous non-conform products.
  • Report on periodic bases supplier KPIs.
  • Participate in Kaizen and Six Sigma processes, if required.
  • Support internal quality and production in tasks and meetings.
Requirements
  • Experience in a Supplier Quality role, with railway experience being an advantage but not essential.
  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of SQA processes.
  • Working knowledge of Quality and CI tools such as APQP, Kaizen, and SixSigma.
  • Ability to work to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Able to travel worldwide and perform independent activities at suppliers.
  • Able to work and manage supplier-related activities alone.
  • Very good analytical skills.
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer Literacy
  • SAP.
  • MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements of a working environment.
  • Lead auditor qualification and experience (IRCA certified desirable).
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.
Location

Hagerstown, MD. Onsite 100%, pay rate 80K-85K/Year.
