Role Responsibilities:

  • The Bilingual Family Support Specialist will provide a range of culturally attuned, home-based services for families engaged in Head Start initiatives. This includes parenting education, guidance on developmental milestones, health and nutrition support, home management strategies, crisis intervention, vocational assistance, and coordination of social services, all tailored to the needs of the client.
  • Facilitate activities for parents and children at home to foster positive and nurturing relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start/Early Head Start performance standards in all program services.
  • Deliver integrated services for families across diverse environments such as classrooms, homes, centers, and community settings.
  • Promote parental engagement both at home and in center-based programs, providing meaningful volunteer opportunities.
  • Identify and enhance family strengths and competencies through the development of the Family Partnership Agreement.
  • Conduct face-to-face discussions with clients, partners, and service providers to facilitate necessary referrals and connect families with community resources.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Participate in the enrollment process for children and families.
  • Engage effectively with community members from a variety of backgrounds and interests.
  • Participate in case conferences and collaborate with other service providers to support families.
  • Develop and implement ongoing outreach strategies to inform families and the community about available services and events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Child Development is preferred, or a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a relevant field, along with related experience.
  • Experience working with at-risk families is advantageous.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
  • Strong empathetic and relationship-building skills are essential.
  • Ability to approach families from an empowering perspective.
  • A valid driver's license and auto liability insurance are required.

Work Arrangement:

This position requires a hybrid work model, combining both onsite and remote work responsibilities.
