Job Summary

**About the Role**

The City of Providence is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Community Behavioral Health Initiative team. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the recovery and overall wellness of referred patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CCBHC team to provide individualized support and advocacy to patients.
  • Assist patients in setting and achieving recovery goals through mentorship, education, and addressing social determinants of health barriers.
  • Provide culturally sensitive support to a diverse patient population.
  • Work closely with patients to develop and implement personalized recovery plans.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure best practices and stay up-to-date on industry developments.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Two years of continuous recovery time.
  • An understanding of different paths to recovery and a belief in harm reduction practices.
  • Bilingual skills are highly valued.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
