Job Summary

California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking a highly skilled Labor Relations Specialist to join our team in the Labor Relations Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling specialized work in the field of public labor relations, providing consultation and guidance to CCHCS on union-related issues, and serving as a representative of CCHCS in various settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze labor relations issues and develop recommendations for CCHCS management.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to CCHCS management on labor relations matters, including collective bargaining, grievances, and labor disputes.
  • Represent CCHCS in various settings, including labor negotiations, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies to promote positive labor-management relations and minimize the risk of labor disputes.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on labor relations matters.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be located in Elk Grove, California, and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications (MQ) will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as industrial relations, labor relations, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in labor relations, preferably in a public sector setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
