Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Labor Relations Director for Employee and Labor Relations (ELR), this role is responsible for providing labor relations assistance to management. The incumbent will represent the organization in various settings including grievances, arbitration, administrative hearings, labor actions, and negotiation sessions.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Complaint Management**: Address and manage employee grievances effectively.
2. **Contract Administration and Negotiations**: Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and engage in local bargaining processes.
3. **Employee Union Relations**: Foster positive relationships with employee unions and facilitate discussions.
4. **Staff Support and Training**: Provide guidance and training to managers and supervisors on labor-related issues.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent experience in employment or labor law.
- Proven experience in legal practice, particularly in trial settings and administrative hearings.
- Familiarity with public sector labor laws, including the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) and the National Labor Relations Act.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with university applications and knowledge of existing personnel policies and union contracts.
- Skills in conflict resolution and the ability to work with diverse groups to promote equity and respect.

Skills Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting legal documents and management positions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment
This position may require occasional travel and the ability to work outside of standard business hours to fulfill essential functions.
