Job Summary:
The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role schedules appointments, maintains medical records, and answers telephones in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments based on physician availability.
- Greet visitors and patients in a welcoming and respectful manner.
- Answer telephones and record messages accurately and efficiently.
- Enter and update patient registration data and accounts.
- Photocopy documents as required.
- Pre-certify patients when necessary.
- Process and record referral requests for patients and physicians.
- Transcribe letters and memos as required.
- Maintain computer backups and ensure data integrity.
- Process and sort mail.
- Process calls from insurance companies.
- Correct and edit transcriptions.
- Stock and order supplies.
- Adhere to Hospital Hand Hygiene Standards and Hospital Standards of Behavior.
- Perform all other duties assigned.

Education:
- Required: High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
Working Conditions:
