Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments for each patient upon their admission.
  • Provide individualized nutrition counseling and facilitate group discussions on nutrition principles.
  • Develop personalized meal plans that address the unique needs of each patient, considering medical, nutritional, cultural, and ethical factors.
  • Offer weekly individual nutritional counseling sessions for patients and their families as needed.
  • Lead nutrition education groups tailored for both adult and adolescent populations.
  • Regularly update the team on each patient's nutritional status during meetings and as required.
  • Ensure timely completion of all necessary documentation, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of patient cycle menus.
  • Oversee inventory management and food ordering/restocking for weekly supplies.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with legal standards.
  • Participate in scheduled training activities and presentations.
  • Utilize feedback from supervisors to enhance performance.
  • Monitor meal consumption and model appropriate eating behaviors with patients experiencing eating disorders.
  • Communicate with referring and outpatient dietitians during the treatment process and upon discharge.
  • Engage in Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Dietitian with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and up-to-date continuing education credits is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics is required; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in nutrition counseling is preferred.
  • Experience working with eating disorder populations is preferred.

  • Knowledge and assessment skills related to eating disorders.
  • Proficiency in nutrition counseling techniques.
  • Capability to create and implement nutritional treatment plans.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Calm and effective response in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated tact, resourcefulness, and patience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team.
  • Adherence to and enforcement of policies and procedures.
  • Adaptability to diverse client groups.
  • Knowledge of kitchen management.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate nutrition-related information kindly and professionally to clients, regardless of their unique circumstances.
Work Schedule: 40 hours, Monday to Friday
