Job Description

Job Title: Construction Management Instructor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Construction Management Instructor to join our team at Laredo College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Construction Management program, as well as contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Mentoring: Teach courses in Construction Management, including construction methods, materials, and techniques, as well as construction law and safety.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials for the Construction Management program.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement assessment and evaluation methods to measure student learning outcomes.
  • Student Advising: Advise students on academic and career goals, and provide guidance on course selection and program requirements.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with industry developments and best practices in Construction Management, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and mentoring skills.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of field work experience with demonstrated competencies in construction management or related field.
  • Skills: Ability to provide service to a diverse population, ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students, and ability to contribute to instructional vitality and growth.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment.
  • Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
