Job Summary

Laredo College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Medical Office Assistant courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the Medical Office Assistant program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Deliver lectures, discussions, and hands-on training to students in Medical Office Assistant courses.
    • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the competencies addressed in the Medical Office Assistant program.
    • Assess student learning through written exams, performance assessments, and other evaluation methods.
  • Program Development
    • Contribute to the development of the Medical Office Assistant program, including curriculum design and revision.
    • Participate in program assessment and evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Student Support
    • Provide individualized support to students, including academic advising and mentoring.
    • Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and retention.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
    • Contribute to the development of faculty and staff through mentoring and coaching.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree in a related field, such as Health Sciences or Education.
  • Experience
    • Three years of experience in a related field, such as Medical Office Administration or Education.
  • Certifications/Licenses
    • Certification in Medical Administration, Medical Billing & Coding, or a related field.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education
    • Doctoral degree in a related field, such as Health Sciences or Education.
  • Experience
    • Five years of experience in a related field, such as Medical Office Administration or Education.
  • Certifications/Licenses
    • Advanced certification in Medical Administration, Medical Billing & Coding, or a related field.
  • Skills
    • Experience with curriculum development and program assessment.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
