Job Overview:

The HEMODIALYSIS TECHNICIAN plays a crucial role in the administration and organization of hemodialysis treatments. This includes preparing patients, managing equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for effective therapy, alongside other relevant responsibilities as directed by the Clinic Manager.

Compensation ranges from $35,000 to $45,000 annually.

This position operates Monday through Friday, with NO WEEKENDS, NO EVENINGS.

This facility is privately owned and situated within a nursing home environment, catering exclusively to resident patients. The dialysis team members operate independently from the nursing home management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Function autonomously under the guidance of the center Manager.
  • Prepare patients and dialysis apparatus for hemodialysis procedures.
  • Monitor and document machine settings and patient reactions throughout the treatment.
  • Prepare dialysate solutions for therapy.
  • Manage waste disposal, including trash and contaminated materials.
  • Address patient needs, including emergencies and assistance with mobility.
  • Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) data collection and coordination as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient and staff information.
  • Perform additional duties that may enhance the patient's emotional and social well-being as assigned by the Clinic Manager.

  • Effective communication skills are essential for interaction with patients, medical staff, and physicians.

Education, Certification, and Experience Required:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma; additional vocational training or college coursework is preferred.
  • Prior medical experience is beneficial; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Must hold current certification as a dialysis technician in Ohio.
Physical and Environmental Considerations:
  • The HEMODIALYSIS TECHNICIAN may encounter risks associated with equipment handling, exposure to infectious diseases, and unpleasant odors. Adherence to 'universal precautions' is mandatory due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
