JOB DESCRIPTION

**Position Title:** Campus Supervisor

**Purpose Statement:** The role of the Campus Supervisor is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while they are on school premises. This includes overseeing personnel and visitors, responding to inquiries, and providing administrative assistance. This position reports directly to the Principal or their designated representative.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Administers first aid and seeks medical assistance during emergencies to ensure proper care for ill or injured students.

• Aids in the investigation of incidents such as vandalism, theft, and altercations to help mediate and resolve issues.

• Collaborates with teachers and administrators to supervise students during various campus events and in designated areas, ensuring adherence to school policies and behavior codes.

• Communicates school rules and enforcement procedures to students, staff, and visitors to ensure clarity and understanding of potential consequences for violations.

• Escorts students as necessary to ensure they are in appropriate locations on campus.

• Monitors student activities across various school environments (e.g., classrooms, restrooms, grounds, hallways, library, cafeteria, parking lots) to maintain safety and security.

• Operates equipment such as two-way radios and computers to enhance job efficiency.

• Conducts patrols of school facilities (e.g., hallways, grounds, buildings, adjacent areas, parking lots) to maintain visibility, security, and deter criminal activity.

• Prepares documentation including discipline referrals, student passes, incident reports, and security logs to provide written support and convey information.

• Manages traffic and parking to ensure smooth flow and usage of parking facilities.

• Refers incidents to appropriate personnel (e.g., injuries, altercations, suspicious activities) to ensure proper follow-up in line with administrative guidelines.

• Responds to emergencies (e.g., medical situations, fights, suspicious activities) to take necessary actions for the safety and security of individuals and property.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

• Assists other staff members as needed to promote an efficient and effective work environment.

**Job Requirements:**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

**Skills:** Ability to perform multiple non-technical tasks, with a need to adapt skills to meet evolving job conditions. Specific skills include adherence to safety practices, operation of standard office equipment, and maintaining accurate records.

**Knowledge:** Basic math skills, ability to read manuals, write documents, and present information. Knowledge of student supervision principles, grammar and punctuation, instructional practices, health standards, safety procedures, and conflict resolution methods.

**Abilities:** Scheduling activities, gathering and classifying data, and considering various factors when using equipment. Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively in diverse circumstances.

**Working Environment:** The role involves occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, with some stooping and significant fine motor skills. The job typically requires 5% sitting, 50% walking, and 45% standing, performed under varying temperature conditions and potential hazards.

**Experience:** Relevant job experience is required.

**Education:** Targeted education that meets the organization's prerequisites.

**Certificates & Licenses:** Valid California Driver's License and completion of a state-prescribed training course.

**Clearances:** Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance; TB Clearance.
