Position Title: Community Outreach Coordinator

Scope of Position:

The Community Outreach Coordinator focuses on enhancing connections with community members by integrating into various programs and fostering relationships aimed at empowering individuals and families. Through personalized coaching, the Coordinator will:

Department: Community Engagement

Reports to: Director of Community Engagement

Employment Status: Full-time, Hourly, Nonexempt

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with community members and families to address various needs.
  2. Develop meaningful relationships to better understand individual and family strengths and needs, connecting them to suitable resources.
  3. Collaborate closely with financial coaches to provide general financial education.
  4. Remain knowledgeable about Income Support programs (e.g., WIC, SNAP, Social Security) and serve as a resource for the community engagement team.
  5. Support community events by actively engaging with participants and building rapport.
  6. Work in partnership with other organizations as necessary.
  7. Integrate into assigned programs to cultivate relationships with community members and staff.
  8. Coordinate with the community engagement team and other staff to ensure aligned services.
  9. Manage a caseload of community members, assisting with intakes and providing support in employment, housing, food, and financial matters.
  10. Ensure accurate data tracking and information collection.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in necessary digital tools (training provided).
  • Reliability, initiative, and a commitment to personal growth.
  • Training in relevant safety and civil rights protocols (training provided).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Intercultural Studies, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with adults in urban or social service settings.
  • Valid driver's license.
