Austin Texas, United States Visa Full time
Job Overview:

At Visa, we pride ourselves on maintaining systems and applications that are not only highly available but also deliver exceptional performance. Our operations touch the lives of millions globally, facilitating transactions that occur in mere fractions of a second. With a presence in over 200 countries, we ensure that our services are reliable and efficient.

Security Focus:
Security is our utmost priority. We cultivate an environment that safeguards transactions exceeding a trillion in value. With millions of cyber threats constantly emerging, we are committed to enhancing our security measures to ensure a robust and secure environment. Continuous availability is integral to our security framework, and we guarantee that our systems are operational 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead Reliability Engineer, your primary duty will be to ensure that our environments are secure and resilient. All security vulnerabilities must be addressed within the stipulated resolution timeframe as defined by our governance policies.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for outages. In the event of an incident, as the steward of the environment, you will take immediate action to restore services. Conducting root cause analysis promptly is essential, and all findings must be rectified in the production environment following thorough testing in lower environments.

As the environment owner, you will monitor all planned and ongoing activities. You will also oversee the deployment of new code into the environment.

Continuous Improvement:
Regular analysis of our environment is crucial. We strive to automate manual tasks and enhance self-healing capabilities, aiming for fully autonomous environments.

When new services are introduced or existing environments are migrated to new technologies, you will collaborate with product developers to strategize for production readiness.

Work Environment:
This position is hybrid, allowing for a blend of remote and office work. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office a set number of days each week, based on business requirements.

We ensure that all activities are documented in accordance with incident and change management processes. Additionally, technical documentation and run books must be prepared and shared with the team to facilitate smooth operations.
