Position Overview:

Infosys is in search of a Lead Engineer for Site Reliability. This role's primary focus will be to oversee a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to proactively guarantee the stability, resilience, and scalability of our services through automation, testing, and engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will leverage expertise from product teams' systems and operations, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), build and release engineering, software development, and stress/load testing to ensure our services are consistently available, cost-effective, and suitable for purpose early in the development lifecycle.

The SRE Lead will collaborate closely with development, architecture, and service management teams to ensure that technical solutions align with architectural principles, delivering value to our clients while maintaining consistent monitoring, logging, and alerting.

This role is crucial for building capabilities and enhancing operational methodologies across various cross-functional delivery teams, emphasizing technical excellence and fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution; will consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the IT industry.
  • Experience in DevOps and cloud environments (any of PCF, AWS, GCP, Azure) along with support experience.
  • Proficiency in automation using scripting/programming languages (bash, PowerShell, or Python).
  • Experience with administration of ServiceNow, Harness, Jira, Bamboo, and other Atlassian products.
  • Expertise in logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, ThousandEyes, Prometheus, Grafana), incorporating frameworks and instrumentation into C# code.
  • Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS/GCP.
Preferred Skills:
  • At least 6 years of experience in DevOps and cloud environments (any of PCF, AWS, GCP, Azure) along with support experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in automation using scripting/programming languages (bash, PowerShell, or Python).
  • Operational experience in maintaining applications.
  • Strong leadership abilities to motivate scrum teams and co-workers to deliver against a roadmap.
  • Significant experience in evolving practices and methodologies through multi-disciplinary teams, business frameworks, and culture.
  • Strong project management background with experience in leading technology change initiatives.

The ideal candidate will excel in a multifaceted role that demands robust technical knowledge and awareness of emerging trends. They should be an exceptional communicator, capable of leading and facilitating discussions across various functions including architecture, technical specialists, business analysis, team leaders, senior management, and executives.

Experience with Windows and Linux Containers (with a current focus on Windows) is advantageous. A high understanding of NF testing (Performance, Security, Cost Optimization, etc.) is also beneficial. The role requires the ability to quickly adapt to domain knowledge.
