Job Title: Packaging and Shipping Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging and Shipping Specialist to join our team at Lockheed Martin in Troy, Alabama. This critical role is part of our Missiles and Fire Control facility, where you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient packaging and shipping of materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all packaging and shipping activities, including inspection, procedures, documentation, and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to various destinations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of packaging and shipping regulations, including 49 CFR HAZMAT Transportation requirements and DoD.4145 packaging and shipping requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education with 2 years of professional experience.
  • Ability to train and become certified in all processes and procedures applicable to packaging and shipping.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and certify others.
  • Computer experience, including MSOffice skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop written instruction from technical drawings and documents.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Background working knowledge of Package Engineering practices.
  • Receiving / Shipping inspection background is a plus.
  • SAP, WEB Based, Shipper, Government Bills of Lading.
  • Hazardous Material Training 49CFR, IATA, IMDG, AFMAN.
  • Knowledge of DoD.4145 and DTR 4500 Chapters 204 and 205.
Security Clearance Statement:

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a 4x10 hour day schedule, with 3 days off per week.
