Genetic Counselor

The University of California is seeking a highly skilled Genetic Counselor to join our team at the Cardiology Clinic. As a Genetic Counselor, you will work closely with medical providers to evaluate patients and families at high risk for hereditary cardiovascular conditions. Your expertise will be essential in participating in research and teaching objectives, tracking data, and reporting outcomes.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in genetic counseling, with a Master's degree in clinical genetic counseling and board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics. Experience in cardiovascular genetics is preferred, as is 1-2 years of clinical experience.
The successful candidate will be required to be credentialed through the Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) and will be expected to work primarily remotely, with occasional on-site presence at the Parnassus campus and Mission Bay campus.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with medical providers to evaluate patients and families at high risk for hereditary cardiovascular conditions
- Participate in research and teaching objectives, tracking data and reporting outcomes
- Develop and implement genetic counseling programs and services
- Provide education and support to patients and families
- Master's degree in clinical genetic counseling
- Board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics
- California Genetic Counseling license
