Genetic Counselor

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a highly skilled Genetic Counselor to join our team in the Division of Cardiology. As a Genetic Counselor, you will work closely with medical providers to evaluate patients and families at high risk for hereditary cardiovascular conditions. Your expertise will be essential in participating in research and teaching objectives, tracking data, and reporting outcomes.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in genetic counseling and a passion for working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in clinical genetic counseling and be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. They will also have a strong understanding of genetic principles and their application to cardiovascular disease.
This position is primarily remote, but may require occasional presence at the Parnassus campus and Mission Bay campus. The University of California is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Provide genetic counseling to patients and families at high risk for hereditary cardiovascular conditions
- Participate in research and teaching objectives, including tracking data and reporting outcomes
- Collaborate with medical providers to develop and implement treatment plans
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in genetic counseling and cardiovascular disease
- Master's degree in clinical genetic counseling
- Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of genetic principles and their application to cardiovascular disease
