Genetic Counselor III

The role of the Genetic Counselor III is to work closely with medical providers in the evaluation of patients and families at high risk for hereditary cancer. This position participates in both research and teaching objectives and is required to track data and report outcomes accordingly. The position participates and may also lead grant-writing and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Co-manage a clinical sub-service of the Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program
- Participate in research and teaching objectives
- Track data and report outcomes
- Lead grant-writing and performance improvement initiatives
- Experience co-managing a clinical sub-service of the Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program
- At least 5 years of experience in cancer genetics
- Demonstrated ability to function independently
The Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program is a well-established clinical and research program consisting of a medical geneticist, family nurse practitioner, 15 genetic counselors, 6 genetic counseling assistants, 2 practice coordinators, database manager, and administrative supervisor. The team has participated in much of the groundbreaking research in hereditary cancer.
