Position Title: Grant Accounting Manager (G32)

The PACCAR Technical Center is seeking a Grant Accounting Manager to join our innovative team. This role will be situated within our advanced testing and research facility. The Grant Accounting Manager will supervise one team member and collaborate with various engineering departments as well as the PACCAR Controller's office. This position will report directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage proactively with operational teams to enhance processes and serve as a strategic partner to management.
  • Prepare accurate financial forecasts and budgets for grant initiatives, overseeing the budget review process.
  • Manage the month-end closing process for grant programs, ensuring the delivery of timely and precise financial statements.
  • Coordinate with sub-recipients regarding cost-sharing reimbursements.
  • Process and submit monthly grant reimbursements.
  • Provide financial insights for grant proposals.
  • Stay informed about current government and agency grant regulations (e.g., FAR cost principles, Uniform Guidance, DOE terms and conditions).
  • Develop and refine best practices within the organization.
  • Assist with annual grant compliance audits.
  • Support other PACCAR divisions with grant-related activities, including training and benchmarking.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills across various functional areas and levels of leadership.
  • Able to build a robust network across diverse organizations and disciplines.
  • Detail-oriented with a comprehensive perspective.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Adept at evaluating proposals with sound judgment and providing recommendations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience with progressive responsibility, preferably in grant management.
  • CPA or MBA is preferred.
