Qualifications:

Education:


• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent with three years of laboratory experience.


• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline.

Environmental Working Conditions:


• Work may involve both indoor and outdoor settings with varying temperatures, including entering coolers and freezers.


• The majority of the time will be spent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.


• Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required.


• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory as per Safety Policy, including safety glasses, safety shoes, LN gear, face shield, apron, and gloves.

Experience | Skills | Knowledge Required:


• Proficiency with analytical instruments, microscopic analysis, and biological assays.


• Familiarity with Aseptic Technique and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).


• Demonstrated analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:


• Knowledge of SAP.


• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for Environmental Monitoring.

Additional Requirements:


• A rabies titer and vaccination will be required post-offer once the worker begins their assignment and will be performed onsite.


• This is a 6-month position with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:


• The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is tasked with executing advanced laboratory procedures independently under the guidance of the area lead and department manager for the testing of veterinary biologicals, adhering to strict governmental and corporate guidelines while utilizing various technical equipment for Quality Testing.


• Technicians must consistently follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with all safety and company policies while performing duties assigned by department management.


• A thorough understanding of the principles underlying testing procedures and the materials being evaluated, such as viruses, bacteria, and cell lines, is essential.

Key Functions:


• Always demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a secure work environment.


• Conduct various laboratory-based tests using aseptic techniques in accordance with regulations and guidelines.


• Comply with all safety and company policies and procedures.


• Maintain and assess the sequential analysis of testing standards relevant to the assigned area.


• Responsible for entering test results into the Quality Control tracking system and cross-checking records.


• Ensure cleanliness of work areas, including floors, walls, and tables.


• Set up and operate laboratory equipment.


• Maintain concurrent records, including charts, logbooks, and all pertinent documentation.


• Report any unusual or non-routine occurrences during task performance.


• Perform advanced mathematical calculations, conversions, and formulations as required.


• Technicians may be responsible for the accumulation, labeling, and management of hazardous, universal, and/or infectious wastes.

Lab Experience:


• Proficient in pipetting techniques.


• Skilled in aseptic techniques.


• Experienced in media preparation.


• Familiar with autoclave operations and sterilization methods.


• Knowledgeable in Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).


• Excellent communication skills.


• Strong basic computer skills, including proficiency in the MS Office suite.
