Position Summary:
The Equipment Rental Specialist plays a crucial role in managing a high volume of customer interactions, both via phone and in-person, to assist with their rental requirements. This position involves negotiating rental agreements, creating contracts through rental management software, coordinating equipment transportation, and processing customer invoices.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management
  • Promote and advocate for safety within the organization, ensuring a secure work environment for all employees, vendors, and clients while adhering to safety policies and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support a safe environment for all personnel.
  • Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as outlined in safety protocols.
Client Engagement and Equipment Oversight
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding equipment rentals, both over the phone and in person.
  • Provide tailored rental solutions based on client requirements and equipment availability.
  • Negotiate competitive rental rates to achieve desired market share and profitability with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate with Delivery Drivers for equipment pick-up and delivery, as well as manage preventive maintenance and repairs with the shop lead.
  • Utilize rental management software for operational tasks such as drafting agreements, invoicing, and equipment transfers.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
  • Assist in promoting safety initiatives and leadership within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Familiarity with rental management software is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective planning and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience is essential.
  • Consistent attendance is required.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 6 months of customer service experience is required.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, along with walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
  • Capability to lift up to 60 lbs. in accordance with company lifting policies.
  • Must meet all safety requirements as outlined in applicable safety policies.
