Position Summary:
The Equipment Rental Specialist plays a crucial role in managing a high volume of customer interactions, both via phone and in-person, to assist clients with their rental requirements. This position involves negotiating rental agreements, creating contracts through rental management software, coordinating equipment transportation, and processing customer invoices.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management
- Promote and advocate for safety within the organization, ensuring a secure work environment for all employees, vendors, and clients while adhering to established safety policies and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to foster a safe environment for all team members.
- Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as outlined in safety protocols.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding equipment rentals through calls and walk-ins.
- Provide tailored rental solutions based on client requirements and equipment availability.
- Negotiate competitive rental rates to enhance market share and profitability with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with Delivery Drivers for the pickup and delivery of equipment, and oversee maintenance and repairs in collaboration with the shop lead.
- Utilize rental management software for various operational tasks, including drafting agreements, invoicing, and equipment transfers.
- Manage customer complaints and resolutions professionally.
- Assist in leading safety initiatives and related projects.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Familiarity with rental management software is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective planning and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
- Demonstrated customer service experience is essential.
- Consistent attendance is expected.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- A minimum of 6 months of customer service experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- A valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, along with walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Capability to lift up to 60 lbs. in accordance with company lifting policies.
- Must meet all safety requirements as per applicable safety regulations.
