Position Overview: Associate Medical Director

Join a prominent multispecialty healthcare organization seeking an Associate Medical Director (AMD) who will operate under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient care within the Family Practice domain.

The AMD will be accountable for supervising and enhancing the clinical performance of healthcare providers in Family Practice across designated facilities. This role involves articulating the concerns of clinicians to the CMO and other administrative leaders, while also communicating directives, recommendations, and issues from the CMO back to the Family Practice team. The AMD will facilitate collaboration and transitions among various clinical services, including but not limited to Behavioral Health, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Specialty Care, and Care Management. The AMD is expected to exemplify clinical quality, foster positive interactions, engage in problem-solving, and uphold ethical standards and professionalism.

Work Schedule:

An AMD working a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week will allocate approximately 8-10 hours for administrative and management responsibilities, alongside 30-32 hours dedicated to clinical practice. A minimum commitment of 30 hours per week (0.75 FTE) is required.

Leadership Expectations:

As a key figure in Clinical Leadership, the AMD is expected to exhibit initiative and self-directed behavior, demonstrating tangible results and progress in management and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of recent experience in outpatient primary care.
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting is preferred.
  • Prior management or leadership experience is essential.
  • MD/DO with a compensation rate of $144.30 per hour.
