Position Overview:
The Family Visitation Support Specialist is responsible for preparing children and parents for visitation and overseeing visitation sessions, with a focus on enhancing parents' self-esteem, empathy, and connection with their child. This role involves coordinating and facilitating interactions between parents and caregivers, ensuring safety while promoting effective parenting skills.

  • Establish rapport with both parents and children
  • Facilitate visitations in diverse environments such as the parent's residence, community spaces, and visitation centers
  • Offer guidance and support to parents regarding positive and safe parenting techniques
  • Communicate needs, objectives, and progress with referring agencies and parents
  • Apply trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches
