Position Overview

As a Production Operator, you will manage the machinery and equipment essential for ethanol production and co-products, which includes the loading and unloading of all incoming and outgoing products. You will be responsible for testing and monitoring the entire production process, ensuring that all tasks are performed safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies and practices. Completion of all required training and skills assessments is mandatory.

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts (8pm-8am); 4 nights on, 4 nights off

Key Responsibilities

  1. Quickly learn all operational areas of the facility, including: a.) Cooking area from corn grinding to fermentation, b.) Distillation and dehydration processes, c.) Energy center operations, d.) Board Operations utilizing control systems, e.) Product handling and testing.
  2. Collaborate effectively with personnel across all operational areas.
  3. Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and documentation requirements.
  4. Inspect incoming grain to confirm it meets company specifications.
  5. Engage with the QA/QC laboratory to support the implementation of quality control policies.
  6. Accurately weigh all trucks for loading and unloading within the facility.
  7. Efficiently load and unload ethanol and other products by railcar and truck.
  8. Safely manage the movement and loading of rail cars.
  9. Adhere to all regulations regarding the loading, shipping, and receiving of products.
  10. Complete all documentation related to products prepared for shipment.
  11. Conduct testing on all necessary equipment and maintain accurate records.
  12. Utilize CPMS software for submitting work requests and documenting completed tasks.
  13. Collect, test, analyze, and record sample results from the production process.
  14. Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas and ensure they are secure upon completion of tasks.
  15. Oversee the cleanliness and organization of grain handling and processing areas.
  16. Monitor the operational status of all equipment in your section.
  17. Perform maintenance checks on equipment, including loaders and forklifts, ensuring proper fluid levels and functionality.
  18. Document any near-misses, accidents, or injuries accurately.
  19. Maintain the facility in a condition ready for tours at all times.
  20. Complete all tasks safely and efficiently, as assigned.
  21. Wear personal protective equipment as required in specific areas of the facility.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience or education in a process-related field is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in using computers and related software, including Microsoft products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Exhibit high standards to achieve company goals.
  • Willingness to complete all necessary certifications and pass tests for designated areas.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated competencies in relevant areas.
  • Experience in ethanol production or other chemical processing is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Frequent walking and standing required.
  • Involves sweeping and maintaining cleanliness.
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to dusty conditions.
  • Regular exposure to high noise levels.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regular contact with chemicals used in the production process.
