Job Overview

Shift Supervisor

The Shift Supervisor oversees the daily operations and activities within a Papa John's establishment, ensuring that exceptional products and customer service are consistently delivered to promote restaurant profitability. This role includes managing operational tasks, implementing all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems, while ensuring adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and ethical business practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follows established guidelines and expectations for each work station, including dough management, accuracy, and portion control. Performs designated duties such as preparing quality products, adhering to product preparation protocols, and maintaining established holding times. Actively contributes to achieving the company's product standards and commits to fulfilling customer needs, minimizing complaints, and responding effectively to customer inquiries. Complies with all policies and procedures as detailed in the training manual, including aspects related to image, attendance, safety, and security.
  • Embodies and demonstrates the core values of the company, maintaining a positive demeanor, collaborating effectively with team members, and displaying flexibility and adaptability to changes.
  • Ensures sufficient shift coverage within the restaurant. Provides immediate feedback and addresses issues as they arise. Maintains product quality, customer service, and performance metrics (such as readiness for service, food and labor costs, cleanliness, etc.) within acceptable limits, adhering to all shift management policies and procedures.
  • Aids in achieving profit objectives by ensuring compliance with company guidelines and target goals through accurate utilization of the financial management system. Executes cash handling responsibilities and assists in managing inventory levels using company systems and protocols to minimize losses.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Serv-Safe or local/state food service certification is preferred (not mandatory).
  • Previous experience in a restaurant shift leadership role is preferred (experience in pizza establishments is a significant advantage).

Skills Required: Cash management, organizational planning, effective communication.
