Overview
As a key member of our Auto Property Damage (APD) department, the Senior Auto Claims Specialist is tasked with the thorough assessment of insurance claims through diligent research, evaluation, investigation, negotiation, and communication with insured parties and claimants. This role requires a solid understanding of the company's mission and values, ensuring adherence to the standards set forth by AmTrust and the Claims organization.

Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive investigations into claims or coverage by engaging with relevant parties, including insured individuals, claimant representatives, witnesses, and brokers.
- Confirms coverage and policy stipulations, addressing any coverage concerns with supervisory staff as necessary.
- Collaborates with internal teams such as Subrogation, Managed Care, or Special Investigations Unit (SIU) as well as external entities like law enforcement to gather pertinent information.
- Establishes and adjusts reserves based on the most probable outcomes of claims, aligning with company standards and individual experience.
- Effectively negotiates and settles non-litigated claims.
- Develops critical thinking and decision-making skills to analyze, interpret, and understand key issues affecting claims.
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with clients, earning their trust and respect.
- Demonstrates a capacity to learn technical materials and improve from past experiences to achieve optimal outcomes for all parties involved.
- Maintains clear, concise, and factual documentation in claims files and other communications.
- Efficiently manages time and diary entries, prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- State licensure as required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in claims handling
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Strong skills in investigation, evaluation, and negotiation
- Knowledgeable in insurance principles and practices
